The spine is designed to balance the weight of our bodies in the most effect way. When the shape is wrong, pain and dysfunction can result. Being hunched forward is connected to so many health issues. Less space for our internal organs can result in reduced lung capacity and changes in heart mechanics.
Some people feel that they can change their posture through doing exercises. When we exercise to improve posture, we are strengthening our adaptations rather than fixing the cause. It’s like having a tent with bent poles and using the ropes to keep it up straight. This works but isn’t the perfect solution.
