Hello,

I’m Dominique. I attended Nick’s clinic as I have been suffering for over 20 years with a neurological condition which includes migraines, headaches and cluster headaches connected to my trigeminal nerve. This makes my life fairly miserable as I never really know how I am going to feel each day when I wake up in the morning. The pain I have is not only in my head but extends to my neck, shoulders and down my arms and in the last few years it has started to affect my back too.

I have found it increasingly difficult to do everyday chores, like gardening, hoovering, lifting and carrying the weekly shopping or even having a handbag on my shoulder for any length of time. The gym has been out of the question due to any possibility of over-stretching the upper body muscles and bringing on a migraine.

Thankfully, I attended a ‘Migraine Action’ conference in Cambridge which recommended chiropractic as an important part of an integrated treatment plan. I was told that it would assist in pain management.

Since attending Nick’s clinic, I have seen a huge improvement to my overall wellbeing. Not only have I experienced better mobility in my neck and lower back, but I have also had a significant reduction in headaches and migraines. I wake most days without pain, a clear head and no stiffness in my head and surrounding joints.

Last week, I managed to complete some gardening without the usual knock-on effect of severe joint pain and the inevitable migraine the following day.

I have tried acupuncture in the past. This has worked but I find that it is very much a temporary resolution- 6 months and then all symptoms return. In addition, it had never dealt with the movement aspect in my neck and shoulders. It has only helped with the pain management side of the condition.

The benefits of Nick’s clinic is the flexible opening hours, in the current climate being able to attend a clinic out of hours is a great advantage. All staff are very welcoming and always offer refreshments on arrival. I would recommend the clinic to anyone requiring any form of relief from severe pain- the consultation will provide you with enough information to make you feel at ease with the way forward!

My only regret is that I didn’t do this earlier, I feel like I have a new lease of life!
